The Information Center for Standards, Metrology and Quality (hereafter- IC) was established as a subsidiary of the Vietnam Directorate for Standards and Quality (STAMEQ) on the basis of the former Information and Documentation Department under the Decision No 450/QD-TDC dated 12 July 1994 by Minister of Science, Technology and Environment. IC is the only national Specialized Information Office in Vietnam on standards, metrology and quality. With tens of standards set from branch standards, Vietnam standards to the international, regional and other national standards kept and updated, IC is the reliable and preferable address of thousands of companies, research institutes as well as other individuals relating to standards, metrology and quality in the whole country. The continuously active contributions of the IC on the works of industrialization, modernization and economic integration of the country were marked with the Merit of the Prime Minister according to Decision No. 1212 QD/TTg on December 18th 2002.
